Hotel
Our Conference will be held at the beautiful Sheraton Old Town, 800
Rio Grande Boulevard. Many restaurants and shops are located within
walking distance of the hotel. The Association has secured a room
rate of $75.00 per night for the conference, be sure to mention
New Mexico Rural Water Association when making reservations. The Hotel's direct line
for reservations is 505-222-8714. Please call our office if we
may assist you.
Other nearby hotels include the Best Western Rio Grande, 1015
Rio Grande Boulevard, 843-9500, and the Hotel Blue, 717 Central
Avenue NW, 924-2400. Mention the Rural Water Conference to secure
the best rate.

Conference Registration
You may register for the Annual Conference by using the form below, or calling the office at 1-800-819-9893. You will save $20 by registering and submitting payment before March 1, 2004, and you will save an additional $15 if your system has under 100 service connections. Association members save $85 on registration over non-members.

Desalination Workshop - Sponsored by the NM Office of the State Engineer & the US Bureau of Reclamation
A two-day workshop covering everything you wanted to know about desalting in New Mexico. Learn how to use this expanding technology to produce safe & clean water from impaired sources. Please note that the Intel Reverse Osmosis Facility Tour is limited to the first 50 registrants and you must bring the following safety equipment: hardhat, safety glasses, pants, and shoes with full leather uppers.

Information on Classes and Instructors
The Annual Conference will feature 38 individual classes, 2.5 days of in-depth workshops, hands-on training sessions in the exhibit hall, and a field trip. Operators may receive up to 19.5 certification credits by attending all three days of the Conference. Major topic tracks will include water operations (2 concurrent tracks), wastewater operations, management and leadership, safety, governance, a distribution workshop and the desalination workshop. Below are downloadable documents of the class descriptions, instructor biographies and the class schedule. Click on the tabs at the bottom of the class schedule for the different days. These documents are in draft form, are subject to change and provided for informational use.

Membership Meeting
Be sure and attend the 26th Annual Membership Meeting at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, March 23 and cast your vote for Association Board members and Officers. Every water system member is entitled to send a voting delegate to the Membership Meeting. Delegate forms must be received in the NMRWA office by March 12, 2004, and must be completed and signed to be accepted.

Annual Awards
The Association recognizes the achievements of Rural Water's
best at the Annual Awards Banquet. Anyone may nominate water systems,
board members, operators, managers or special individuals to receive
an award. The Awards Committee is currently seeking nominations
for 2004. Nominations must be received by February 15th, 2004. Email your nomination here.

Operator Certification Exam
The operator certification exam will take place at 8:00 am,
March 25th in the Franciscan Ballroom at the Sheraton. You must
submit an application form and test fee of $15.00 to the Facility
Operations Section of the New Mexico Environment Department by
February 25, 2004.
